THE CHAMPIONS COURSE

In an innovative first for golf course architecture in this country, Thompson & Perrett designed the Champions Course as a dedication to past champions of the Professional Golfers' Association of Australia. The official opening of the Champions Course in 2008 was attended by many legends of the game including PGA Champions; Peter Thomson, Wayne Grady, Ian Stanley, Bob Shearer, Graham Marsh, Frank Phillips and Billy Dunk.

Holes on the sandbelt styled Champions Course feature a plaque near each tee as a tribute to the relevant skills and attributes of the past champion, after whom each hole has been dedicated.

Some of the most notable features of the Champions Course at Sandhurst Club are the gentle sandbelt style fairway contours, coupled with the open fronts to greens, and substantially tree lined fairways, in contrast to the more "hurdle style" experience of the North Course.
